Longreads has an extract from <a href=\"https://longreads.com/2017/05/17/chasing-the-harvest-heraclio-astete/\">a new book that gives a voice to migrant workers in California</a>.</li>\n<li>From Berkeley, mind, a little bit of <a href=\"http://blogs.berkeley.edu/2017/05/23/the-innovations-behind-the-new-food-revolutions/\">history on innovations in food processing</a>. \u201cToday, there are more than 400 types of mixed salads.\u201d And that was just the start of it.</li>\n<li>Do people perceive those bagged salads as \u201chealthy\u201d? Probably not, according to <a href=\"http://www.foodpolitics.com/2017/05/ific-report/\">one graphic Marion Nestle lifted</a> from the 12th annual Food and Health Survey produced by the International Food Information Council. She also reminds us that the IFIC is \u201cindustry-funded\u201d and that \u201cthe data come from an online survey taking 22 minutes to complete\u201d.</li>\n<li><em>A Feast for the Eyes</em> is celebrated in <a href=\"http://www.bjp-online.com/2017/05/photobook-a-feast-for-the-eyes/\">The British Journal of Photography</a>. You may never look at food photographs in the same way again.
